Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Gold Diary ("the App", formerly GoldCal), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Description of Service
Gold Diary is a mobile application designed to help users calculate gold prices and jewelry costs. The App provides:
- Gold price calculations based on information entered by the user
- Jewelry cost estimation, including making charges and tax
- Gold rates and exchange rates downloaded from third-party sources
- Optional daily gold rate notifications
- Data storage and sync with your iCloud account (on by default, and can be turned off)
- My Gold, a register of your jewelry, free for up to 5 pieces; Pro, a one-time in-app purchase, adds as many pieces as you like and more features (calculating is free, and the App shows no ads)
Data and Privacy
- The developer of the App does not operate servers and does not collect, access, or store your calculations, history, or photos.
- Your data is stored on your device and, while iCloud sync is on, in your private iCloud account managed by Apple. The developer has no access to your iCloud data.
- The App contacts third-party services to download gold rates, exchange rates and a jeweler directory. It shows no ads and does not track you.

Accuracy of Information
- Calculation results are based on the information you enter and on the rates the App shows or you choose.
- Gold rates and exchange rates come from third-party sources (such as Joyalukkas, Gulf News, national gold associations, banks and dealers, gold-api.com, Swissquote, Yahoo Finance and ExchangeRate-API). They may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate, and rates shown as calculated or estimated are approximations.
- Rates are provided for reference only. Actual prices charged or paid by jewelers may differ, and the App does not provide financial, investment, or tax advice.
- The developer makes no warranties regarding the accuracy of rates, calculations, or results.
Third-Party Services and Content
- Rate data and the jeweler directory are provided by third parties, whose own terms and privacy policies apply. The developer is not responsible for their availability or content.
- Names and trademarks of jewelers and rate sources belong to their respective owners. Their appearance in the App does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of the App.
Purchases
- Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple. My Gold is free for up to 5 pieces, with everything on each piece. Pro adds as many pieces as you like, PDF reports, zakat, spreadsheet import and exchanges, the App lock (Face ID, Touch ID or passcode) and sharing a calculation as a PDF. Calculating, Results, Negotiate, History, iCloud sync and Hide amounts are free without it. It can be shared through Family Sharing.
- If the App was used on your device before version 3.0, sharing a calculation as a PDF stays free on that device, and on your other devices while iCloud sync is on.
- Anyone who bought Remove Ads in an earlier version of the App has Pro.
- Anyone can look through the sample collection in My Gold; it cannot be changed.
- If Pro is refunded or no longer shared, nothing is deleted. With up to 5 pieces, My Gold works as the free version. With more, your My Gold data can be seen, exported, backed up and deleted, but not changed until Pro is bought or restored, or until no more than 5 pieces are left. An App lock that is on keeps working; once turned off, it needs Pro to be turned on again.
- Payment and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. You can restore a previous purchase in the App's Settings (Purchases) or on My Gold's Pro screen.
Intellectual Property
The App and its content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Remove copyright notices
- Use our trademarks without permission
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including decisions made on the basis of rates or results shown in the App.
Updates and Changes
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason.
